Shorebirds- LP&7"

The band includes Matt Canino, of (ex)Latterman and (ex)Jawbreaker's Chris Bauermeister. Nice part of the outfit isn't it? They put out a LP and a 7inches. Here they are.
Canino crossed the country, from Long Island to Olympia, Wa. Things got started, assembling poppy, gruff punk rock music. Canino handles the vocals which definitely gives Shorebirds a Latterman flavor. Its not pure Latterman, but sure you'll like it!

Reverse the curse- paths ep

One more band which done the fest!
Its raw, i've just classified as a gainseville-like band. You'll find it obvious even if Reverse the curse is from Biram, Ohio! Some guts, some good post hardcore rythms, i like that! Give it a try, you won't regret.

Every second week- ep

Here's a french band -Hell yeah- They are from Caen and well: congratz! Its a good 4-tracks cd.
Its great to see french singers involves in their lyrics, and really care about'em. Its not always...
If you ditch bands such as sinking ships, modern life is war (way faster) or even ruiner you should check em. We're talking modern hardcore, energy, raging voice! With maturity they can become big and I'm really looking forward to see them live!

Yesterday's ring- Back from el rancho

Sainte Catherines gone folk. Well its been a while, this release dates back '05. Those Quebekers followed their 04 "onze chansons pour faire pleurer les morts vivants".
No french singing in there but a pure low voice on its breaking edge, smoothen by melancholic tunes. Bottles of beers, some whisky for an easy listenning record. Good shit.

Only thunder- lower bounds

Many europeans know the state of Colorado for the already legendary studios, the blasting room- bill stevenson on the run!- Well, I'm not writting to deal about this. I'm more into putting ex-members of colorado's underrated bands, naming the blackout pact, ghost buffalo or pinhead circus and mixing them into a new project called Only thunder. The quintet followed what they had started (check hello sailor from the blackout pact) but took care of producing an act of non conventionnal punk rock. They did good. Lower bounds has a great identity, some math punkrock, great-great guitars for intense musical parts, a great striking sound, and a bit of hwm influence-the guts dude!-
Fucking brilliant!

Tenement kids- we've all been down

Hail, hail Netherlands, you've got great bands on your territory, one of many of them is the tenement kids, and whoa, the kids can play. Hot water music' backyard, Tribute to nothing frontporch, Blackout pact threshold with a little bit of The draft.
Energy well structurated, very mature, a kick ass album.
They're playing a lot of fests this year (incl. groezrock), you're gonna hear about them!

Ruiner- what could possibly go right

Repeat- repeat- repeat
then again.
Repeat- repeat- repeat
then again.
I'm low on battery, and i'm coming home to listen one more time to that 8 tracks cd.ep
We can find similiraties with With Honor and early-Modern Life Is War, but Ruiner is pretty unique. It makes me think of the best that straight-forward melodic hardcore punk, with breakdown parts and pissed off singing. I listen to a lot of bands categorized in the ever growing pile of modern hardcore, but this is at the top of the list.

Make do and mend- bodies of water

You're not gonna believe me. Guess what? Another ala hot water music band. Connecticut based Make do and mend says about their influences to be seaweed, tragedy, and jimmy eat world. I say it might be a bit of these three put in a shaker, and the result is a sincere work. You can definitely think of hwm without being a pale copy. It's the vocals: another door on ragan's street!Apart from this you'll discover a great band with sides of only thunder or quicksand, and be thrilled by the last song!

How dare you- comfort road

I really spotted Gainesville as the florida's temple of punk rock with heart. And then i realized that there are other towns, other bands.(dumbass)
Well how dare you features members of hand to hand and as friend rust. If some can find hints of AFR, i'm feeling like this release is very strong, reminding me of milloy and hot water music but smoother, faster. (Yeah i listen to lot of that shit!)

Milloy - Creating Problems While Practising Solutions

England at its finest! Leatherface meets Hot Water Music! After the really good "more than a machine" this new album is awesome. Stuck in the head choruses, great guitars, top notch rythms, raw singing, you can't ask for more.

Minus the bear- acoustics ep

Minus The Bear is sort of an experimental indie rock/post-punk band from Seattle. Since 2001 they put out several good records such as Planet of Ice or Menos el oso. They tried to let their acoustic side shine with this brilliant ep. Except the first song, all tunes are re-arranged from previous releases. Well done, repeat-worthy!
