Agent- demo, ep, 7"

How deep is the Long Island scene? Tons of good bands are from the area...
Agent is one of those bands you don't talk so much about, but it's certainly worth an ear! Here are various records they have made.
Lifetime meets Braid meets Title Fight, good happy hardcore/pop punk.

Snowing- fuck your emotional bullshit

There was Street Smart Cyclist (grab their songs for free) who did pretty good emo stuff and then there was light!
Snowing put out this ep of stickin' melodies, lightweigh guitars (ala capnjazz), and perfect singalongs. This is great, really really great. It puts a smile on your face.

this is a free diy release!

Rejouissance-

Here are some tunes of this brooklyn band. They are from several Rejouissance's releases: ep1/ep2/moss on momuments cd.
Some heavy singin', with guitars in the shade of rumbleseat, mixed with various elements of experimental music eels meets the evens, like a two-face band. I'd go with the tim barry side of it, tracks like the race, never ending and our war with faith!
check 'em out. its pretty damn good!

for the encyclopedia-geek punks, you might want to footnote: rachel bass plays guitar and you can find Rachel playing bass in bands like Night Owl, or -rip'ed- Ladies and everyone and Know nothing...now you know...

Rumspringer- s/t ep

Tempe based Rumspringer released a new 6 tracks effort after many 7inches. (including 5 splits!)
It's catchy -you're gonna singalong- somewhere between Iron Chic, Latterman, Lawrence Arms and stuff! What else do you need to blast your fucking stereo??

Slingshot Dakota- Their dreams are dead, but ours is the golden ghost

Carly Commando on keyboard&vox and Tom Patterson playing solid drums!
A 40 minutes' easy listenning of talented drumming, sparkling vocals. There is joy. There is simplicity. There is honesty. Think of Zolof the rock and roll destroyer meets Lemuria in a bare way, filled with the spirit of plan it x bands...Slingshot Dakota made a very enjoyable second full-length, still diy.

If you get to know my other posts, you'll learn very soon that latterman -and ala latterman bands- have their role! So no exception here, because Matt Canino makes some guest singin'! Enjoy.

Paul Baribeau- St(2004) & Grand Ledge (2007)

So spring is back! And here I am, back in Lyon after two awesome hollidays' weeks!

Paul Baribeau, Michigan songwriter, is a gound soundtrack to go trough a lot of emotions.
The first album was supposed to be just demo songs. He recorded 14 tracks in one night for Chris of Plan it x records.
All of his songs are just him and his guitar, no tricks!
Grand ledge
I'll quote a line to describe him: "Paul Baribeau is pure childish-ness in the greatest sense of the word. If you ever take the time to observe little ones, then you will quickly see that little kids experiences the purest and rawest form of each emotion whether it be love, anger, joy, peace, or disappointment" Thats pretty much it. There is so much things in songs like brow brown brow in his demo album or like bells on grand ledge that i can repeat them 10 times, so my girlfriend is now singing with me!
I really like whats the man is reflecting, a great aura.
Enjoy.
